Elizabeth Alluah and Thomas Vaah

Elizabeth delivered fresh stillbirth due to professional incompetence and lack of adequate monitoring and midwifery care during his birth at Ghana’s supposedly first class private health center. NEVER AGAIN should such tragedy and unnecessary loss of life happen to any other family in this country. The death of their beloved son has led to this crusade to fight against the cancer of negligence and poor attitude in maternal and child health care delivery in Ghana.

Mrs Vaah’s first hand experience with such incompetence and negligence makes her a strong advocate for better service delivery and safety of our women and newborn children.

Vaah Junior Foundation believe that all life is sacred, and those entrusted with protecting and saving lives must do so at the best of their ability.

This Foundation will partner with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), NGOs, Government agencies, the Media, International Organisations, Individuals, Corporations and all like minded people everywhere who believe in same.

shame on the vaahs. is it money they want or what they should break into the vault of Bank of Ghana for that and leave lister alone. shame on you again.this is the worst memorial for your son. shame on you again

i think this knee jeck reaction has only revealed that you had premeditated the demise of your unborn child. this is carlos wickedness. lister is the BEST health care facility in ghana and you want to bring it down? how many hospitals in ghana can boast of ony FOUR deaths in six years?!! only four 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ? please give us a break. and dont get me wrong? no one should be happy about the loss of a new child. but this is not the way to treat such remarkable health professionals. i see that you are into such activities professionally and i am compelled to believe that you had used your child for sakawa nad only want to blame lister for this. in any case who told you to go to lister? why did you not go to kolebu? ........@*$%#&*&^..............

this is outrageous!!! 2 million ghana cedis????? TWENTY BILLION OLD GHANA CEDIS??? WOW. IS THAT THE COST OF YOUR SON? on a more serious note, I think you are pursuing a good cause but the means by which you are doing this leaves much to be desired. have a rethink of your efforts to destroy the best marternal health care facility in ghana have you checked the number of marternal mortalities in the public health care facilities in the country? I think your efforts will be better expended if you direct it towards the public health centers accross the county. any way, my condolences.

It is very sad this inccident but let us remember in everything we have to give thanks to the almight God creator. KSM infact the money my good friends are demanding is too much and it also tells about how their love and want money for their foundation, but l want to tell them, they have a good foundation which every good and human feel will join. so let sympatise with them and help them, any other person who has been in such situation. God bless them for listening to my piece of advice.

Eric, Your comment is a very irresponsible one and speaks volume of your ignorance. In Ghana, when medical mishaps happen, we "give it to God" and it continues to happen. How many people don't die negligently? I know someone who had cancer. He was diagnosed and treated for appendicitis. By the time they got round to make the correct diagnosis, it was too late and he died. I've known Elizabeth for sometime now. She's a hard working young woman and even if it is about the money, the hospital needs to be held accountable, period! Elizabeth, lots of people support your cause and sorry for your loss.

The Vaahs like most so-called advocates are just interested in ripping people off (excluding me,except my time used to write this). In as much as I am not in full support of leaving everything to the private sector (for their greediness etc),I wont buy this cock and bull story by the Vaahs. What is destined to happen would happen no matter what and Vaah jnr was not to survive.By requesting for 2million Ghana cedis alone is an indication of your love for money.Your request wont deter them (if your claim is true) but will rather shift the financial burden on the users of their facility. Grow up for money is not everything.

This kind of negligence is unpardonable. Never will I send my wife or any of my family members to such a place. But let me ask, Is it negligence or professional incompetence?
